In an era of increasing specialization, SZFM Design Studio is committed to taking on a wide variety of assignments in a range of scales. We’ve renovated and transformed retail shopping areas, and we’ve designed boutique interiors. We’ve created complete streetscapes, and we’ve designed custom park benches. We’ve written design guidelines for downtowns, and we've collaborated with artists to make those downtowns shine. We are as fascinated by the big picture as we are by the smallest details , and we understand that vibrant cities and markets are a constantly evolving mix of uses so we deliberately build flexibility into our projects so they remain vital.
Intimately understanding the way the parts relate to the whole results in dynamic, memorable places. By combining that knowledge with an imaginative approach to the repurposing of buildings and entire districts we have been very successful in repositioning urban and suburban cores so that they attract people back again and again.
When it comes to our clients, we've found that working for both the public and the private sectors allows us to share with developers our experience with municipalities and vice versa. Our success has been built on our ability to draw together our client's goals and artfully synthesize them into a unique solution, deftly shepherding complex projects through approvals, often while negotiating competing interests among stakeholders and within limited budgets.
We look forward to talking with you about your project!
